Robin McFalls Named Trailblazer in 2024 Women in Supply Chain Award

We're thrilled to recognize Robin McFalls, Product Manager for CarLogix, as a Trailblazer in the 2024 Women in Supply Chain Awards by Supply & Demand Chain Executive. This award celebrates women who drive innovation and make significant contributions to supply chain and logistics industries. Robin’s expertise in railcar repair solutions and fleet management software exemplifies true leadership in rail logistics.

Pioneering Innovation in Railcar Repair Solutions

For more than 20 years, Robin has developed cutting-edge solutions that transformed how railroads, fleet managers, and railcar owners manage repairs. As the Product Manager for CarLogix, she led the development of a system that simplifies railcar repair billing, a complex task requiring knowledge of hundreds of ever-changing rules. Instead of relying on users to memorize these rules, CarLogix uses an intelligent repair rule engine to guide and check billers and auditors, ensuring accuracy and minimizing costly errors.

Robin’s deep understanding of railcar repair billing processes has revolutionized practices at many railroads and repair shops. By embedding complex industry regulations from the AAR Field Manual into intuitive software, she has streamlined what was once a manual and time-consuming process.

Leading Through Mentorship and Innovation

Robin began her career in railcar repair billing during a pivotal shift in the industry, where she played a key role in transitioning from paper-based systems to electronic processes. Her hands-on involvement in developing the original electronic billing system shaped her deep knowledge of the intricacies of repair billing. Today, Robin continues to lead with that same expertise, managing a next-generation intelligent system that not only streamlines billing but also provides real-time insights into railcar health and repairs.

Beyond her technical skills, Robin’s leadership and mentorship set her apart. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to guiding the next generation of professionals, especially women entering the male-dominated rail industry. She actively shares her knowledge of rail shipment tracking, railcar health, and lease management, ensuring that her colleagues understand both the software and the broader implications of their roles in the rail industry.

“Robin's depth of knowledge on AAR procedures and systems that support railcar repairs and billing is remarkable,” says Jane L'Amoreaux, Railinc’s marketing manager. “She simplifies complex railcar repair procedures in ways that our customers can understand, and she's always willing to share her knowledge and mentor others.”

Robin likens her leadership approach to guiding a team on a mountain climb. She supports her team members as they overcome challenges, encouraging them to push beyond their limits. Her ability to explain complex topics—whether it’s railcar repair billing rules or asset health alerts—while mentoring those around her has made her an influential figure in the rail industry.

What’s Next for CarLogix and TransmetriQ

Robin continues to lead CarLogix toward deeper integration with TransmetriQ’s expanding suite of solutions, positioning the platform as a one-stop shop for rail operations. In the coming year, Robin plans to enhance CarLogix with advanced predictive analytics, enabling railcar owners and fleet managers to proactively address potential issues. These advancements will improve both safety and operational efficiency across the industry.

A True Trailblazer in Supply Chain

Robin McFalls’ recognition as a Trailblazer in the 2024 Women in Supply Chain Awards is a testament to her dedication to the rail industry and her commitment to driving change. Her work continues to enhance day-to-day rail logistics operations while paving the way for future women leaders in the supply chain.
